My Teaching philosophy incorporates authentic learning and higher level thinking with Social Emotional Learning (SEL). No matter the grade level, learners need to be pushed to reach that higher level of understanding. There is also a connection between SEL and higher level of thinking. It goes back to creating a safe place where they want to engross themselves in their learning. SEL is seen within with the classroom because learners spend the majority of their emotional development within school. Creating an environment that enables a safe form of SEL, will deepen their desire of pursuing authentic learning. My learners will be able to blossom in their SEL, authentic learning, and higher level thinking.
